Forehead Lift

Aging of the face often results in lowering of the eyebrow region, hooding of the upper eyelid region, and droop of the upper third of the face. A brow lift is the perfect procedure to rejuvenate this region of the face.

The brow lift now been shown to provide the highest level of long-term patient satisfaction of all facial surgeries.

Long-term correction of forehead wrinkles, frown lines and drooping eyebrows is possible with brow lift surgery. A brow lift, or forehead lift, can help tighten sagging skin on your upper face and get rid of creases and lines much longer than Botox injections.

Is Brow Lift Surgery Right for you?

Nearly any patient with descended, sagging brows and static forehead wrinkles can benefit from brow lift surgery. Men and women with deep horizontal creases across the forehead or 11s (vertical brow furrows), as well as those with heavy brows, are typically the best candidates for a forehead lift.

If your hairline is particularly high, you have inadequate upper eyelid skin or you're prone to prominent scars, a brow lift may not offer satisfying results. Dr. Nuveen will help you evaluate all advantages and possible disadvantages of brow lift surgery prior to recommending the procedure.

FAQ

How does a brow lift work?

This procedure takes about 25-30 minutes to perform. In older times, an incision was placed at the hairline and across the scalp to gain access to the frontal region.

Today, a brow lift is performed using three short incisions at the scalp to gain access to the frontal region. Through these small incisions, a camera is inserted and allows direct vision of the anatomy of the area. The frontal region is detached from the underlying bone, repositioned and held into place for healing in a new, higher position.

What can I expect after my brow lift?

After your brow lift, some numbness, swelling and bruising may occur. These temporary side effects usually last only a week or two, however numbness may last somewhat longer. After 1-2 weeks, most brow lift patients have returned to work and normal daily activities. Exercise and more strenuous activity may usually be resumed after 3-4 weeks.

How long do the results last?

Results from a brow lift are expected to last at least 10 years. This procedure is often combined with laser skin resurfacing and upper and lower eyelid skin removal for a more comprehensive improvement.

Endoscopic brow lift surgery results in a shorter recovery period and less scarring than a traditional brow lift, however most brow lift surgery scars can be hidden with hair and are very discreet.
