Thigh Lift in Oklahoma City
Thighplasty
If the skin on your inner thighs is droopy or saggy then you may be a perfect candidate for a thigh lift. Many times patients who have had massive weight loss are left with unwanted skin that causes discomfort, insecurities, and can really interfere with day to day activities.
A thigh lift is a way to get rid of excess skin and to smoothen and contour your thigh area. If you are in relatively good shape, are at a stable weight, and have excess skin that will not respond to diet and exercise than you are an ideal candidate for a thigh lift. It is important to note that if you intend to lose a lot of weight it is a good idea to wait until you are at a stable weight before having this procedure.
At Cosmetic Surgery Affiliates in Oklahoma City, Dr. Nuveen performs thigh lift surgery, and often combines it with other procedures for lower body contouring.
Lower Body Contouring with a Thigh Lift
Although losing weight is exhilarating, it can be dampened by the reality of loose skin. To remedy this, a thigh lift, or thighplasty, is performed as a final step of the weight loss process. In addition to removing and toning loose skin on the upper thighs, a thigh lift may also incorporate liposuction techniques.
After a successful thigh lift, you should feel more comfortable wearing tight-fitting clothes and finding clothing that fit. During your consultation with Dr. Nuveen, he will talk to you about your concerns and examine your thighs. He will then create a unique treatment plan that works toward your goals in body contouring.

Most thigh lift surgeries take between two and three hours to complete. During your surgery, you will be under with a local anesthetic and sedation or a general anesthetic. Both of these options will help you to sleep through the procedure and improve your comfort.

The thigh lift is performed by making an incision in the groin and inner thigh area, once the incision is made the excess skin is removed and then tightened.
How will I feel after surgery?
Following your thigh lift, you may feel groggy and will need transportation home as well as help around your home for a few days. You may experience some swelling, but this should fade within a few weeks. Dr. Nuveen may prescribe medication to help you manage possible discomfort.

Though you will be expected to walk after surgery, you may not resume light exercise until at least two weeks after your surgery. You may need to wear the compression garments for several weeks. As you heal, Dr. Nuveen can tell you when it is appropriate to resume activities like exercise and returning to work.
What are the risks of thigh lift surgery?
As with any surgery, there are risks associated with having a thigh lift, the most common risks are breakdown of the incision, bruising, swelling, hematoma, and infection.
